The Rainy Season
The Moroccan word for winter is the same as the word for rain. Frequent rains are the rule from late October until early March, and the lack of central heating in most cheaper hotels makes this an important thing to know. The weather during this season, does sometimes flip back and forth between beautiful sunny days and rainy ones, but even on sunny days, the Atlantic beaches are icy-cold.
Another thing to remember about the early months of the rainy season, is that flash flooding can be a danger, especially up in the mountains. Check out the clip below to see a flash flood caused by poor drainage in downtown tangier in 2008.
