Tangier Kasbah Museum
The Tangier Kasbah Museum is full of fascinating architecture, and a breathtaking garden. The entrance fee is only 10 Dh, about one euro. Inside you’ll find several courtyards, with rooms housing artifacts from Moroccan history. (The displays are in French, Arabic and Spanish) At one time this compound housed one of the sultans of Morocco, and the lush garden is maintained in classic arab style, a perfect place to sit and enjoy the afternoon. The building itself is getting old, but it still has it’s original zellige stone work on the walls and floors, and several rooms have intricately carved and painted ceilings. Check at your hotel to make sure the museum will be open, since they follow the moroccan tradition of closing at unexpected times.
