Hotel Rembrandt is located in the heart of downtown. It has a nice garden and pool out back and large clean rooms, The hotel has and is undergoing renovation in some parts, so try and get a room that has been refurbished already. ¬†Hotel Rembrandt is in an ideal location, not far from the port and the old medina, but if you have bags and are coming from the port take a taxi because the whole walk is uphill. During the end of summer, Moroccans drive up and down the street outside honking their car horns at 4am after weddings, so if you’re there in August, or just before Ramadan, maybe look for a room facing the pool or the sidestreets.

  1. I spent 2 weeks at Hotel Rembrandt during june/july. The description here is very accurate. The location is great, very central; short walk to Rue Mexique, the beach, the port and the medina. The room was a nice size, with a desk, armchair, and good sized closet. The bathroom was a good size and clean.

My only complaints are that the bed was a bit stiff, and as the description says, street facing rooms get alot of noise from revelers at night. Closing the window and the curtains cuts quite a bit of this noise, but it is still there. A pool facing room would be much more comfortable.

The room had an in-wall air conditioning unit (temp controlled) with remote that worked quite well, and kept the room comfortable during the night despite the window being closed.

Breakfast was good, I liked several of the pastries. I usually got there right near the end of breakfast service, and still got some that I liked. It wasn’t gourmet, but it was sufficient and convenient.

I wouldn’t hesitate to go there again, but I would definitely ask for a pool facing room.

  2. Ok, I was amazed on how great this place was…

The rooms were just fine, but adding on top of it the complimentary morning breakfasts, the pool, the view of the ocean, the downtown location, and the best concierge (directed me to two of the best restaurants in town); this place was quite the gem.

I totally recommend this hotel…and this website was really such an asset to me finding this place.

  3. I’ve stayed there a couple times and my family often stays here.

It is fairly basic, but reliable, and well located centrally in town. Has nice views on the ocean side. Wi-fi works well in the lobby, and the breakfast dinning room is quite nice and sunny.

The beds are also decent for people who have back issues.
